Title: Probing Physics Beyond the Standard Model: Precision and Theory Uncertainties

Abstract: In the absence of direct evidence for physics beyond the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics, Effective Field Theories (EFTs) have emerged as powerful tools for exploring potential new phenomena. As the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) continues to gather data, the importance of precision physics becomes increasingly apparent. By focusing on the high-energy parameter space of correlated bosonic processes, we will demonstrate how certain blind directions in new physics can be disentangled during the High Luminosity Run of the LHC.
Additionally, we will address the various sources of theoretical uncertainties that are crucial to consider in EFT analyses. These include uncertainties arising from operator truncation, next-to-leading-order (NLO) QCD and electroweak effects, and the impact of including the renormalisation group equation (RGE) evolution of the operators. We will emphasise the critical role of incorporating NLO electroweak corrections in background processes to accurately determine constraints on SMEFT parameters, using the $W^+W^-$ production process as an example.
